Cecilia Ortiz

Cecilia is a graduate student from the School of Science (Universidad de la República) who´s Diplom thesis had as goal the characterization of the human thioredoxin system (2006-2008). Before joining the lab, she was Technical Assistant at the Molecular Oncology Lab (IP-Montevideo) from 2008-2009. She is currently doing her PhD working on the structural and biochemical characterization of drug target candidates from the pentose phosphate pathway of T. cruzi.

Main interest: structural biology, biochemistry and rational drug design.
