Resume of International training course Animal cell biotechnology: products from cells-cells as products

The course was held in the city of Montevideo (Uruguay) from 10 to 19 November, 2010.

A group of 17 professors were invited, from Europe, Asia, Africa and America. 119 participants from around the world applied to perform the course, and priority was given to 21 participants, based firstly on the excellence of their CV or of the laboratory where they are conducting their studies. Selected participants were from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Cuba, Romania, Mauritius Island and Uruguay.

The theoretical lectures were open to the public, many students and researchers from Uruguay, Argentina, Brasil and Chile who did not received fellowships to participate to the course, attended nevertheless the lectures.

It is important to highlight that this course was recommended by the European Society for Animal Cell Technology (ESACT) and it was advertised at the ESACT web page (http://www.esact.org/courses.html).
